5 ways to get more YouTube views

Uploaded a video to YouTube sure it was going to be the next Despacito?

But despite your (what feels like) endless Facebook and Twitter promotions and a big hole in your pocket, your efforts just don’t seem like they’re paying off? Well here are some great tips to supercharge your strategy!

We listen to a lot of playlists and it pays off for those with the patience to go through with it, sometimes to the tune of 50k views. If you don’t know how to create a playlist, or if you’re just too lazy to look it up click here for a tutorial.

Just try not to use the greatest hits of your favourite artists. That’s been done too many times already!

Your followers will literally get notified of when you upload a new film clip. That’s something you just can’t look past! How do I get more subscribers you ask? Good question.

Annotations are a great way to influence people to subscribe. Have a little pop-up saying “Subscribe to our channel”. You’ll be surprised how effective these annotations are, and you can also use them to create links to your other songs. Why not have them in the song you sneak into that playlist? 😉

Another way is to ask people to subscribe in the description of the clip. After all the subscribe button is right above it!

Comments: This is as simple as copying your clips URL and going to other clips from renowned Artists and saying “If you like this, you’ll probably like this (insert link here). And be sure to spam all the new songs from your chosen artists, the comments tend to go stale after some time. So when you get the notification your favourite artist has just added a new clip, you’d better be Johnny on the spot!

Sure some keyboard warriors might give you some static but hey, any publicity is good publicity right? I mean we live in a world where the famous get more famous by being hated! What a time to be alive…

4. Trends: Now we’re not telling you what to have in your film clip, but why not have something that is not just in reference to what your music is portraying, but also something that is related to a trending issue amongst Australians, or even the world. For example, the fact that Kim Jong-un and Trump controversy? That’s your thumbnail right there!

Well maybe the 80’s is an exception, but if your still uploading live rehearsals and passing them up as finished songs and something people are supposed to listen to regularly, Put. The. Camera. Down.

Get those songs recorded professionally! Even semi-professionally, but for god’s sake! Your partner and mum might say it sounds great, but you need to know it doesn’t and you’re ruining your non-existent reputation before it is born!

There are a plethora of people trying to break into the recording industry that can get your music tracked, mixed and mastered for pennies on the dollar.

We live in an age where anyone in a first world country has access to all the tools required to record any instrument at home. You just need a bit of money, time, patience and YouTube tutorials. But if you’re a musician you should have all those things already. Except money 😛

So! While you guys are busy with the above, don’t forget to download the BandAidz app and help us help you get more people to your gigs!
